The joint 6Aika strategy of the six largest cities in Finland (Helsinki, Espoo, Tampere, Vantaa, Oulu and Turku) develops more open and smarter services. The aim is to create new competence, business and jobs in Finland. The work will continue with EU funding until the end of 2020.
The strategy has three focus areas: open data and interfaces, open participation and customership as well as open innovation platforms.
- Open data and interfaces: The cities open data and harmonise their interfaces to make publicly generated data better available to companies.
- Open participation and customership: The cities think up ways to get customers more involved in service development and ensure that they are considered in the development of various customer service channels.
- Open innovation platforms: The cities develop various development environments and city processes to be more compatible with companies’ development activities.
All ongoing developmentin Espoo funded through the 6Aika strategy is based on these focus areas.
