Upper secondary school students will continue studying from home until 5 February 2021

Upper secondary schools in Espoo will continue studying from home until 5 February 2021. Distance learning will continue in all upper secondary schools in the capital region. Teachers will give instructions to the students attending their courses through Wilma. 

At its meeting on 27 January 2021, the coronavirus coordination group outlined that the existing restrictions and recommendations will remain in place until 27 February 2021. The purpose of this extension is to prevent the spread of the epidemic and the new coronavirus mutation and to protect the social and health services from becoming overburdened.

Distribution of packed lunched continues  


Packed lunches are available to Espoo’s upper secondary school students studying from home for as long as distance learning continues.

Follow the communications of your upper secondary school to get information on the delivery of packed lunches. 

Lunch options: 

  • mixed diet (lactose free, may contain pork) 
  • vegetarian (lactose free, does not contain meat) 
  • mixed diet, gluten free (lactose free) 
  • Special diets will be offered at school. Ask more from your upper secondary school.  

Restrictions concerning students who are getting ready for the matriculation examination will be reassessed 


Restrictions concerning students who are getting ready for the matriculation examination will be reassessed at the meeting of the coronavirus coordination group on 14 January 2021 based on the development of the epidemic, the spread of the coronavirus mutation, and possible new guidelines issued by the Government.
