Espoo pupils, their parents and students and school boards are asked for their opinion on the timing of school days and holidays during the school year 2020–2021. The survey will open on 21 October and close on 3 November 2019. Parents will receive the survey link as a Wilma message from their child’s school or pre-primary education unit.
The guardians of children in pre-primary and basic education will be asked for their opinion on the timing of school days and holidays through an electronic survey. Pupils in grades 3 to 10 and first- and second-year upper secondary school students will also receive a link to the electronic survey. Each respondent gets to choose their favourite from three options. The number of school days and the last day of the school year will be the same throughout Finland.
With regard to the Finnish-speaking units, the Finnish Education and Early Education Committee will decide on the timing of school days and holidays at its meeting on 20 November 2019. The Swedish Education and Cultural Committee will decide on the school days and holidays in Swedish-speaking pre-primary, basic and upper secondary education on 21 November 2019.
