In Espoo upper secondary schools and comprehensive schools have Christmas holiday from 23rd December 2020 until 6th January 2021. Spring term begins on 7th January 2021. The services at Finnish Education Unit is mostly closed from 23rd of December 2020 until 6th of January 2021. 

The City of Espoo offers fun and free holiday activities. You can check them on the website espoo.fi/holidayactivities. Happy holidays!

Pupils moving to Espoo during Christmas holiday

If your family moves to Espoo during Christmas holidays and your child needs support in the Finnish language, you can contact the coordinator 28th December to 30th December 0468773293 and from 4th January +358503255729.

Information about school admissions

Enrolling in the 1st grade

Children born in 2014 shall be enrolled in the first grade of comprehensive school by their guardians through the electronic Wilma-service between 8th and 20th January 2021. More information about enrolling in the 1st grade on School Admissions.

Enrolling in the 7th grade

Enrolling in the 7th grade of comprehensive school takes place through the electronic Wilma-service between 8th and 18th January 2021. More information about enrolling in the 1st grade on School Admissions.

Applying for weighted-curriculum studies in the 3rd grade 

Pupils in the 2nd grade can apply for weighted-curriculum studies in mathematics and science focus and/or in music between 15 December 2020 and 15 January 2021. More information on page Weighted-curriculum.
