How to apply for time slots

School premises are usually available to Espoo residents from 16:00/17:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and from 9:00 to 18:00 on weekends. Time slots are applied for through the City of Espoo resource booking system. The system includes a calendar that shows the spaces and times that are available at each school.

Some of the schools are supervised during evenings and weekends, while others require self-supervision. You can find the form of supervision in the booking system, next to the name of each school. Spaces for individual meetings can only be booked at supervised schools.

Recurring time slots

Recurring time slots for recreational activities are applied for during an annual application period that takes place in March and April.

The application period for 2020–2021 has ended, and all the granted time slots can be seen in the booking system.

Recurring time slots are available at all supervised schools and at some of the schools with self-supervision. Time slots are granted for activities that support the objectives of Education and Cultural Services, in line with the principles of the Finnish Education and Early Education Committee.

Additional time slots in the premises that remain available can be applied for through the booking calendar throughout the season. These applications are processed within a period of 14 days.

One-off time slots

One-off time slots (e.g. for housing company meetings) in premises that are not used for recreational activities can be applied for at any point. You can apply for these time slots through the resource booking system. Applications are processed on a first come, first served basis within a period of 14 days.

One-off time slots are only available at supervised schools, not at self-supervised schools for security and resource reasons.

Collaborative events that are related to the activities of Education and Cultural Services or a school can also be organised at self-supervised schools with the principal’s consent.

You can find the form of supervision of each school and the available premises and time slots through the calendar in the resource booking system.

How to use the resource booking system

The system provides step-by-step instructions on how to fill in an application. Additional information is available in the user instructions
