The EIS Student Council (STUCO) is intended as a medium by which to endow students with a sense of community involvement, leadership, personal initiative, respect for individuals and diversity, respect for the environment, and respect for democracy.
STUCO has an open structure with standing committees to meet the ongoing needs of the school population, as well as ad hoc committees to meet particular needs that arise.
All elected STUCO representatives must serve on one of the five Standing Committees: Energy and Environment, Social, Community Service, Outstanding, and Fundraising. These committee members choose programs run by the students and then can recruit non-elected students to assist in duties of the committee. The main job of these committees is to set, promote, and safeguard the goals of STUCO. These goals are reassessed each year to reflect the changing population of the school.
