The primary school grades (1-6) at Espoo International follow the Finnish National Core Curriculum for Basic Education determined by the Finnish National Board of Education and recently updated in 2016. The curriculum includes the objectives and core contents of different subjects, as well as the principles of pupil assessment, special-needs education, pupil welfare and educational guidance. The principles of a good learning environment, working approaches as well as the concept of learning are also addressed in the core curriculum.

The middle school grades (7-9) follow the Middle Years Programme (MYP) curriculum administered by the International Baccalaureate (IB) organisation. As part of our commitment to delivering the MYP areas of interaction (AOI) at Espoo International School we run a CAS programme that prepares them for the CAS element of the IB diploma programme.
