The Finnish Education and Early Education Committee has not yet commented on New Nordic School Espoo’s application for authorisation to provide education.

New Nordic School Espoo Oy has applied for authorisation to provide education from the Finnish Government. The school plans to offer education in English and bilingually in Finnish and English. The company proposes to start providing education to pupils in grades 1–6 in autumn 2019. Starting from autumn 2022, the school would comprise grades 1–9.

In its meeting, on 14 November, the Finnish Education and Early Education Committee discussed its views on different means to increase English-language education in Espoo. There are many ways to achieve this: Espoo itself could offer more teaching in English, support private education providers or both. The committee has commissioned a survey to assess the need for more English-language education and different ways of organising it. The survey will be completed by the end of 2018.

New Nordic School Espoo Oy is a non-profit sister company of New Nordic School.
