A new restaurant operator will start at WeeGee Exhibition Centre on 5 January 2019. Compagnie Mat Oy Ab/Brasserie Lumière has operated successfully for three years in Tennispalatsi in Helsinki, and it will now continue its operations at Café WeeGee. The agreement with the current service provider has been terminated, and it will end on 31 December 2018.
Mali Hakulin, the owner of MatCo, is looking forward to new challenges in Tapiola, Espoo. According to Hakulin, the core of the concept of the restaurant consists of food made of quality raw materials on site, simplicity and speed. Lunch portions are assembled in beautiful dishes according to the customer’s choice. The restaurant serves warm dishes, soup and salad with accompaniments as well as desserts. The customers are always offered an extensive selection of special coffees, wines, savoury and sweet pastries and other delicious products, not forgetting special diets.
WeeGee Exhibition Centre houses four museums (EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art, KAMU – Espoo City Museum, the Finnish Toy Museum Hevosenkenkä and the Finnish Museum of Horology), the EMMA Shop and Café WeeGee, offering year-round experiences to visitors of all ages. The Futuro house at WeeGee is the first mass-produced Futuro house (no. 001), and it is open to the public during the summer season. Approximately 300,000 people visit WeeGee each year.
Café WeeGee provides versatile opportunities for museum visitors, conference guests and event audiences at the Exhibition Centre. The operations are based on a fresh and current concept in a modern design restaurant setting. WeeGee’s architecture, exhibitions, restaurant, museum shop and customer service offer the customer a high-quality overall experience.
