Spring in the archipelago – photographs and stories about the nature

“On the island, spring is turning into summer. Busy mother starlings whoosh back and forth carrying food for their hungry nestlings. Groves and pollard meadows have sprinkled their green quilts with a sea of yellow, red, and purple flowers. Plants, birds, insects, snakes, and mammals are industriously creating a new generation.” This is how Lisse Tarnanen describes the island’s atmosphere.

The 32 photographs and stories of the exhibition are the yields of a photography excursion to the Archipelago National Park that the Luontokamerat (Nature cameras) camera club made in early June 2011. The photographers are Petri Asikainen, Petri Kortelainen, Kimmo Lahikainen, Jarmo Latva, Kari Loimu, Janne Löytömäki, Sakari Manninen, Kari Niemeläinen, Katja Nikkinen, Jarno Riipinen, and Lisse Tarnanen, who also wrote the stories.

Nature House Villa Elfvik is open Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm.
