Smart traffic systems offer significant possibilities to optimize city traffic, and help to connect different traffic formats together. Also innovations that create growth and jobs, and improve life quality of the citizens are needed when developing an efficient, reliable, eco-friendly and safe city traffic", Markkula said.
Commissioner Bulc encouraged companies, cities, communities and universities to utilize the possibilities the European Union offers for collaboration. She also invited everyone interested in the future of low-emission traffic to actively debate with the European Commission.
"Things are speeding up when it comes to finding solutions to reduce emissions. I really encourage everyone to get to know the actions and plans made by the European Union, and participate in the discussion", Bulc advised.
